A 13-year-old El Monte boy was charged Friday with two felonies for allegedly starting the Morris fire on Aug. 25 that burned more than 2,100 acres north of Azusa. If the boy is found guilty, he could face sentencing ranging from probation to placement in a juvenile facility until the age of 25.
Interestingly enough, back in 2007, when a 10 year old started the Santa Clarita fire, burning down 38,000 acres, including 21 homes, he was found to be “playing with fire”, not arson.
If you’re going to fuck around with matches, do it before you turn 13.
