Union Station | 10.16.09

Last night when I got back into town, I decided to kill some time by finishing my book at Union Station Plaza. It’s a nice little place… fountains, ample benches, thought out landscape architecture. However security doesn’t seem to mind the homeless people and other lurkers who like to hang out there at night. Here are some of the fun characters I ran into.

1. Man with saggy pants who stood in front of me a minute before finally asking me for the time. Then stepped aside to check the messages on his phone.

2. The man who took a picture of me reading, shook my hand, introduced himself as Carlos, and promptly walked away.

3. The two guys who kept following me around the station. Every time I moved somewhere new to read, they’d walk by a couple times, sit caddy corner from me, eventually inching a seat or two closer. I should mention that aside from the 4 other people waiting for a bus, the station was empty.
